美国纽约格林威治村的屠夫李奥（乔治山打饰），在一次到北卡罗莱纳州的钓鱼之旅中，遇见一位神秘的女郎玛莉娜（黛咪摩儿饰），两人立刻相恋并结为夫妻。但当他把玛莉娜带回家后，才发现她似乎有一种神秘的力量，能预测并能抚慰当地居民的心事。当地的一位心理医生亚历克斯（杰夫丹尼尔饰）不相信，急于调查真相，却又难以解释一些现象。在追寻真相的过程中，他与玛莉娜竟然有了婚外情…… 展开全部
